HomeOnTheLava—Off-Grid海景和火山美景
This beautiful shipping container Home was built on an old lava flow. It’s has clear ocean views, an expansive view of Kīlauea volcano out the back, it’s eco-friendly in so many ways, off-grid utilities (solar power and UV filtered water catchment), surrounded by amazing lava landscape, awe inspiring night sky filled with more stars than you have ever seen before. You will also enjoy the incredible ocean breeze that refreshes and cools you day & night.
The home possesses so many cool features. Typically if you have ever been in a “Tiny or Container Home” there is nothing spacious about them but through effective design I feel this was achieved as soon as you step inside you are greeted with an open feel 16’ by 16’ room. The first interesting pieces of furniture are the dining table & chairs that were recycled from an old Teak wood boat. Then there is the highly functional sofa & ottoman that not only lifts up to provide storage but it also converts to a king size bed. You will also be drawn to the exquisite mango wood that was used for the countertops in the kitchen & bath. Once you see the pebble stone floored bathroom you will again be amazed at the size. Inside you find a one of a kind Petrified wood vessel sink sitting on a great piece of mango with a natural live edged mirror. As you will see in the photos you get to enjoy a rain shower in the large shower enclosure. Then pick any bedroom and you will find a platform bed that gives the sense it is floating that were custom made by a local Hawaiian. You will find this home was built in such a unique and quiet place you might not want to leave.
You have complete private access to this 3 Bedroom 1 Bath Home. The building is actually comprised of 2 homes. The other is a 2 Bedroom 1 Bath Home which can also be rented (please see other listing for more photos & details)
I am available for questions or comments by phone or text.
View Kīlauea Volcano through the back windows, and hike on old lava flow right from the door, passing the baby coconut trees. Visit the newest black-sand beach in the world Pohoiki Beach Park, Kehena black-sand beach, majestic waterfalls, and other natural sights, while nearby Uncle Robert's market place offers a fun night out every Wednesday. The town of Pahoa is only 15-20 minutes away where you can enjoy various restaurants and shopping, especially Kaleo's for a wonderful dinner out.
I definitely recommend you rent a car because this Home is located in a remote area with no public transportation. You are only minutes away from some local food vendors and a convenience store and about 15-20 minutes from the local town of Pahoa with various restaurants and shopping.
God has blessed me with this place so I can share it with others. Whether you are looking to be a tourist and see all the amazing sites or to just be at peace with yourself and nature this is the place for you.
There are NO Coqui Frogs to keep you awake at night here.
